The Brynlynn Diaries

Poo Tales.

It has finally happened.  I've heard countless stories from different moms and I've noticed Brynlynn's new awareness while having her diaper changed lately.

While changing her diaper yesterday she reaches down, yanks it out aaaaannnnd throws it! ...after swinging it around a bit, of course.  What was I doing through all of this, you're probably thinking (keep in mind the entire process lasted about 3 seconds), I was mostly saying, "no! no! no! Brynlynn! Stop!" Fortunately, it landed "right side up" so it was an easy floor cleanup with minimal damage to her hands and the changing table. Ewww.  I realize this is only the tip of the iceberg, but it's happened.  Sigh.  I can only hope keeping her in pants will limit her ability/desire to rip her diaper off when she's alone in her crib.  I don't even want to think of the possibilities.

Brynlynn vs. the string cheese wrapper.

(I'm not sure what was the issue(s) here, but my favorite part is about 15 seconds in.)

Sometimes I do the same thing when opening string cheese.

And luckily Mac doesn't have anything solid to throw across the room just yet... that'll be a fun day when he does.

HAHAAH! Love this post! yeah it's a sad day when they realize they can reach around and throw their diaper mid diaper change. Grayson has had some NASTY moments! But it's good - you're just loading up on funny stories you can tell when she starts dating ;)

Mothers and Daughters

Just a warning, I am standing on my 'soapbox', so turn back now if you don't want to hear my rant of the day. I have strong opinions, so read at your own risk. :) I just watched this video, Mothers and Daughters , and had to share it. I watched a very disturbing episode of Oprah yesterday (the DVR recorded another episode for some reason). I won't go in to details, but despite all of the discussion I was very upset and surprised by the actions of the mother. She was basically the opposite of what a mother should reflect. She offered no love, support, encouragement and in this particular situation protection for any of her children. I particularly like how Elder Ballard mentions what expectations we as women are presented with today. Pointing out how, women are often made to look silly, and objectified. Our roles, that we are divinely given, are continually undermined . Women seek guidance on how we should look, what we should wear etc. from people that really do...

Summer Time Bucket List

Summer is almost here!! For some of you, it has already begun, but for me, as I write this, my kids still have a couple more days of school.  We all know how crucial  those last few days of school are *eye roll*...filled with movies and extra recess etc.  Honestly, I am excited for the season, but I also going to appreciate the last few days of normalcy, too! In Texas, we have the long summer break that goes through late August.  Which means we have over 8 weeks of no school.  It's a long time.  Don't get me wrong, I love, love, LOVE having my kids home with me! I love the return to "easy" mornings to lay around, eat breakfast slowly and eventually start the day.  However, a week of this-great (maybe), more than that and you're asking for chaos!  There is nothing wrong with children experiencing boredom, I am a huge advocate of it in fact.  Again, however , too much of it and you're asking for chaos! Also, I really love experiencing new t...

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale & Dups!

I can't believe it's already here!! THE annual Nordstrom sale!! Christmas in July! 😂 Are you one of the many who get excited for the sale or do you not really care?  I love a good sale, for sure! If there is anything I've had my eye on, I like to make sure I check out the sale to see if it made the cut!  As I type this, I'm off and on Amazon and my Target app because it's Amazon Prime Day! ....ahhh how that commercialism gets me!!😂 It does seem weird to start buying boots, booties, cardigans and jackets in July--especially in Texas!  Buuut I try to keep in mind that if it's something I will need in the winter and it's cheaper to buy it now, it's worth it!! Plus, all the sales in July can help get some gift buying done (super early!!) & then it doesn't hurt so much come November and December, right? #justificationprocess So, for those of you not consuming your days scrolling the sale items and cross referencing them across multiple sites...
