The Brynlynn Diaries

Poo Tales.

It has finally happened.  I've heard countless stories from different moms and I've noticed Brynlynn's new awareness while having her diaper changed lately.

While changing her diaper yesterday she reaches down, yanks it out aaaaannnnd throws it! ...after swinging it around a bit, of course.  What was I doing through all of this, you're probably thinking (keep in mind the entire process lasted about 3 seconds), I was mostly saying, "no! no! no! Brynlynn! Stop!" Fortunately, it landed "right side up" so it was an easy floor cleanup with minimal damage to her hands and the changing table. Ewww.  I realize this is only the tip of the iceberg, but it's happened.  Sigh.  I can only hope keeping her in pants will limit her ability/desire to rip her diaper off when she's alone in her crib.  I don't even want to think of the possibilities.

Brynlynn vs. the string cheese wrapper.

(I'm not sure what was the issue(s) here, but my favorite part is about 15 seconds in.)

Sometimes I do the same thing when opening string cheese.

And luckily Mac doesn't have anything solid to throw across the room just yet... that'll be a fun day when he does.

HAHAAH! Love this post! yeah it's a sad day when they realize they can reach around and throw their diaper mid diaper change. Grayson has had some NASTY moments! But it's good - you're just loading up on funny stories you can tell when she starts dating ;)

Mothers and Daughters

Just a warning, I am standing on my 'soapbox', so turn back now if you don't want to hear my rant of the day. I have strong opinions, so read at your own risk. :) I just watched this video, Mothers and Daughters , and had to share it. I watched a very disturbing episode of Oprah yesterday (the DVR recorded another episode for some reason). I won't go in to details, but despite all of the discussion I was very upset and surprised by the actions of the mother. She was basically the opposite of what a mother should reflect. She offered no love, support, encouragement and in this particular situation protection for any of her children. I particularly like how Elder Ballard mentions what expectations we as women are presented with today. Pointing out how, women are often made to look silly, and objectified. Our roles, that we are divinely given, are continually undermined . Women seek guidance on how we should look, what we should wear etc. from people that really do...

What's Fabric?

David's Bridal Highly Educated & Well Informed Employee: Thank you for calling DB. How can I help you? Me: Hi, yes I'm trying to order several yards of fabric. DBHE&WIE: I'm sorry, what? I don't understand you? Me: I'm trying to order some fabric. DBHE&WIF: order what? Me: Fabric. F-A-B-R-I-C (yes, I spelled it out for her just mistakenly thinking this would in some way make the communicating proces easier). DBHE&WIE: I don't know what that is. Me: (stunned, but I'm used to working with stupid people on the phone...here's my attempt to 'dumb it down') the stuff the clothes are made of--cotton, taffeta..? DBHE&WIE: Oh! Oh, I don't know...let me transfer you to alterations. Long story short: alterations first language was NOT English. She transferred me back... Hung up--called another location. Food Strategies to Help You Stay on Track!

What is up, ya'll?! Yes, I'm from Texas, I say y'all...a lot. #noshame Today, I wanted to take a little detour from the cleaning, organizing, life stuff to chat a little more about fitness and nutrition.   As some of you may, or may not, know I am an amateur body builder.  I have competed in the bikini division for the past 3 years. I would not consider myself an athlete, well, I never did any way until recently!  They label you "athlete" at the competitions and I'm not going to lie, I loved it!  Though, on several occasions I would forget they were referring to me, too!😝 I have typically been active from high school on through college and as an adult, but obviously, this competing took my fitness and nutrition to a whole new level.  I am not a certified trainer or nutritionist, but I have learned a lot through this journey! Meal/Snack Prepping Tired of hearing about meal prepping yet?  It's gonna be a frequent response, from me, on how to su...
