AZ Adventures

Brent was trying to position himself just right in order to take that perfect pose.  It was so funny to watch.  The movie STILL makes me laugh :)....if not, maybe you had to be there. (p.s. sorry it's sideways...just tilt your head).  As always, Brent has to do his classic 'camera spin' on every trip.  Usually you see nothing of the surroundings...only Brent's handsome face...this time i think he did a little better.

Snowboarding Trip to AZ

We drove through Salt River Canyon on our way back to Gilbert, AZ.  We could not pass up a good photo opp...and of course we were not satisfied with your typical 'posy pose' pictures... Typical Brent....sigh Playing in the snow (for my FIRST time....ever!)

falling into place

So....I bought a wedding dress!!! I had it narrowed down to two, both would need 'heavy altering' of course, but details...so I went back this past week along with my aunt (also a seamstress) for her professional opinion and made my choice!  I'm very excited, though it won't get here for another 6 weeks or something.   We booked the place, Fair Oaks Ranch golf club near Boerne!!....well, actually we have the contract (or Brent does) we just need to finish up.  Cakes are done!  We had another cake tasting this past week and both really liked her and the cakes.   Brent, I think, is most excited for this, which says a lot for the cakes since he is a self proclaimed cookie man.  He didn't get his blonde brownies, but  I think he's ok with the alternative.  His will be, and I'll try to describe it exactly how Brent did, a 2-tiered chocolate cake--VERY moist--with chocolate chips (this was very important and asked her several times if this is possible....like we&#

Wedding Update!

First, as you may have noticed, below I posted a few of the NYC pictures...there are MANY more on facebook (FYI).   I feel like we have been productive and used our time off effectively (despite poor Brent being sick/congested most of the week)!  We had our first cake tasting this week at an adorable place appropriately called 'The Cake Shop.'  I think I know what style of cake I want (or am very close to knowing at least) and Brent found something he really liked as well for the Groom's cake.  He's such a sweetheart, he still agreed to go to the tasting even though I scheduled it the exact time the Tech game started...we managed to get back in time to not watch the rest of the game.  We did, however, get some much needed cleaning/organizing done.  Brent really has no logic to where items are stored.  For instance, the iron lives in the kitchen by the stove, the drill--in the cabinet above the stove, and my favorite--the halloween costume accessories are placed in misc.
