Yes, the title is a bit misleading, but it does still look like Christmas around here...we haven't gotten around to taking the decorations down just yet. In my defense, we did just get home Sunday night and it's ONLY Jan. 2 for heaven's sake!
I had a lot of ideas, plans, goals etc. for Christmas this year and most of which didn't happen. Things were really busy and we were gone for most of December so I wasn't able to execute all of my plans. It's ok, though, because we still had a great holiday with family...and there's always next year!
Among the long list of Christmas crafts I had planned, here is the ONE that we did.
|
Rather than buy a "Baby's 1st Christmas" I wanted to make one...easy enough, right? Wrong. Baby fingers have an instinctive response to paint-they curl up and wiggle at a rapid pace. |
|
We got it though! (Mind you, this was the 6th or 7th try...) P.S. Could this picture get any cuter? I doubt it. |
Fast forward to the week of Christmas in Floresville...making Christmas Cookies!!
|
Brent's cookie. |
We also made a gingerbread barn (yes, I meant barn...this is Floresville after all). By we, I of course mean Seth and Brent. I can't take credit for their creation.
|
Looks just like the box (pictured top right), eh? |
....................................................
Christmas Eve was spent with family eating, opening presents, watching old home movies etc. That night we read The Night Before Christmas and then the story of Christ's birth in Luke.
|
"But I'm not ready to go to bed, mom." |
Christmas morning!!
|
"My letter worked! I really did get a train..." |
Merry Christmas!
There was SO much more that went on, many with pictures to document, but I just can't post it all. Sorry.
(...yeah, I got bangs. I'm still on the fence with how I feel about them)
Coming soon...Christmas #2 with the Shannons.
