This Memorial Day weekend was a memorable one...devoted to family. We started off the festivities at Joyland! I have to admit after hearing Brent and Aaron reminisce about their childhood adventures there I wasn't all that eager to ride the rides. Hearing 'death trap' or 'I thought we would fall of the rails' weren't exactly selling points for me. I was, however, pleasantly surprised. Despite the 105 degree weather it turned out to be an enjoyable afternoon.
Summer is almost here!! For some of you, it has already begun, but for me, as I write this, my kids still have a couple more days of school. We all know how crucial those last few days of school are *eye roll*...filled with movies and extra recess etc. Honestly, I am excited for the season, but I also going to appreciate the last few days of normalcy, too! In Texas, we have the long summer break that goes through late August. Which means we have over 8 weeks of no school. It's a long time. Don't get me wrong, I love, love, LOVE having my kids home with me! I love the return to "easy" mornings to lay around, eat breakfast slowly and eventually start the day. However, a week of this-great (maybe), more than that and you're asking for chaos! There is nothing wrong with children experiencing boredom, I am a huge advocate of it in fact.
