What's Fabric?

David's Bridal Highly Educated & Well Informed Employee: Thank you for calling DB. How can I help you? Me: Hi, yes I'm trying to order several yards of fabric. DBHE&WIE: I'm sorry, what? I don't understand you? Me: I'm trying to order some fabric. DBHE&WIF: order what? Me: Fabric. F-A-B-R-I-C (yes, I spelled it out for her just mistakenly thinking this would in some way make the communicating proces easier). DBHE&WIE: I don't know what that is. Me: (stunned, but I'm used to working with stupid people on the phone...here's my attempt to 'dumb it down') the stuff the clothes are made of--cotton, taffeta..? DBHE&WIE: Oh! Oh, I don't know...let me transfer you to alterations. Long story short: alterations first language was NOT English. She transferred me back... Hung up--called another location. They're going to call me back tomorrow to let me know. ps Tanlee-you owe me.

A New Way to Say, "I Love You"

Like any Sunday, I fell asleep on the couch for a good 15-30 minutes (who's counting?). I woke up when Brent came back downstairs and sat next to me on the couch. He rested his head on my hip (I lay on my side)-no big deal-then a few minutes later said," did you pee?!" At first, still coming out of my coma, I thought 'no, I'm pretty sure I didn't', then I realized he was directing this towards Winston. Then I realized that my hip had a strange spot and was damp!! I must be a more sound sleeper than I thought, because I felt nothing and it was cool by the time we discovered it so.... I guess I should be flattered; (I looked it up on dog training) apparently, he loves me and is 'staking his claim.' Happy Valentine's Day--Love, Winston. (p.s. this is the second time this has happened-first time I was awake though)

To Wii or not to Wii

For my birthday, my loving husband surprised me with a Wii! Equipped with controllers and the newest Super Mario Bros (where up to 4 people can play at one time..fun, but less effective). Needless to say since that time less and less seems to get done around the house. For instance, tonight I had New Beginnings for mutual (-sidenote: I have a new calling as the 2nd counselor in the YW program-VERY excited!). I asked Brent to straighten up some as the in-laws will be here on Fri. and our family room is a disaster zone--but we cleaned the office! (aka transferred everything to the family room). I come home to find, Brent, Aaron, Winston, and you guessed it level 6 of the Wii. He did shred some of the documents that required shredding. How do I know? There is a million little pieces of shredded paper on the floor. Lovely. p.s. I'm not actually annoyed..I love him, and am also slightly addicted to the Wii....

Never! Say Never!

An on going battle--uhhem, discussion--between Brent and I pertained to a wonderful little, furry addition to our family. I taking the Pro Dog side and Brent...well.... I'm not sure what lead to his eventual 'change of heart', but honestly, who cares?!? Meet Winston!

Costco-Where the Mormons Go!

We have a Costco card. Yes, Brent and Tamara party of two. Brent likes to walk around and look at all the things we don't need nor do we even really want....and now I'm hooked. Do I need 25 lbs of cheddar cheese-NO! Do I want them, not really, BUT it's only $15! We were there Wed. for gas and decided to go in (which makes sense because the gas pumps are located across the parking lot from the store entrance). We ran into a lady from our ward and talked for a bit. She was just killing time during mutual and mentioned how she always wonders around and ends up leaving with a cart full. I honestly thought, not us-that's a little ridiculous. 10 minutes later...Brent had to go back to the front and get a cart. Costco-1; Shannons-0
