Friends.

"Oh, hey mom.  We're just sitting on the stairs...yeah, just gonna sit here. Go back to what you were doing."   "Ok, I'm going for it...bark if you see her coming."

Trunk-or-Treat!

So it's technically not yet Halloween, but we had the annual Trunk-or-Treat tonight.  Our new church building also has a pavilion outside equipped with picnic tables so this year we also had dinner before the 'trunk-or-treating' began.  Potluck, buffet style chili dinner, cornbread and other misc. sides...mmmm good. We waited in line, struggled through the line-me carrying Brynlynn, Brent serving up two bowls while both dodging little lego men, princesses and so on.  Once we finally made it to our seats and sat down.... Chili went all over the floor and Brent... She did, however, manage to scoop some of the chili and Fritos before they fell and get a good taste.  (I couldn't help but laugh because of a scene from Mr. Mom where the baby gets a can of chili..."You can't feed a baby chili!"; again, another Mr. Mom reference...seriously watch the movie if you haven't seen it and/or don't remember that scene!) No biggie.  We cleaned it up, share...

Pumpkin Patch

We had our first, family trip to the Pumpkin Patch today!  We had a great time; Brynlynn was in a good mood and very cooperative with all the pictures. We even let her pick the pumpkin she wanted...after we narrowed it down to three. "What happened to the pumpkin she picked?" Well, I'm glad you asked! This required team work! I picked the face and Brent did the rest.  We, of course, had to have Halloween music playing to kick off the pumpkin carving festivities.  Brynlynn didn't make it through to see the end results, but she did get to stick her hand in the pumpkin to feel the 'innards'.

A&M/Tech Football Weekend

I know this is a little late, but...better late than never! Happy family...BEFORE the game.   We had a good time and the game went well.  Unfortunately, we the brought the "stomach bug" home with us.  Brynlynn got sick on Monday, me on Wednesday and Brent Friday.  I could be mad, but I lost four pounds!  We'll be back in Lubbock for Thanksgiving so I could probably stand to lose another 4lbs or so by then. Fingers crossed! ;)

Aggie Fans, Look Away

Anyone married knows compromise is necessary for a happy, healthy marriage (unless of course your spouse is perfect...mine attended Texas Tech, so clearly not the case here ;) ).  Of course, I'm only kidding (mostly); we support each others teams EXCEPT when they play each other, obviously.  My husband, sister, multiple brother/sister-in-laws attended Texas Tech so it, too, is a part of our family life.  Brynlynn's Aunt Tanlee made sure her little niece will be dressed for the game next weekend in Lubbock.   Her reaction after I told her what her onsie said. In the end, at least she's not wearing that ugly, burnt orange. Whoop!
