Lake Time!

Brynlynn's very first lake trip!  Between Brent's crazy work schedule, the lack of lake water and Brynlynn being, well, born, we had yet to make it out to the lake.  First trip as a family anyway- Brent went out once this season with just the guys.  It was a good thing too since the "boat place" didn't put all the plugs back in after winterizing the boat (I'm not entirely sure what that means, or where these plugs go, but I know that it caused "boat issues" which directly relates to the mood of my husband. It was not good). Fortunately, there was not damage to the boat...or so the mechanic from said "boat place" said. We shall see...we also got a trip to the "boat place", which was fun... I just LOVE this picture of her.  I think she will probably have to have her own someday... ........................... Ok, so here are some lake pictures: The very proud father.  She did really well, when the boat was moving.  After some lu...

Almost Ready for Aggie Football!

I FINALLY dusted off my sewing machine!   This was my FIRST article of clothing ever made, so be gentle.  It's definitely not professional grade, but I think it will make it through her wearing it...at least once.  I really enjoyed sewing it!  I did have some anxiety though...I just get really anxious and impatient, but I would just stop and take a break if I needed (also a reason why I am NOT a good test taker...the second I sit down I have this overwhelming urge to finish and leave. Not a good thing. It's weird, I know...). I didn't have a pattern, but it's a simple "tutu skirt" so I just used common sense.   I still intend to make a matching onesie and bow, but here is what I have so far: You may be wondering, " will we also see a Texas Tech version ?"  Nope.   Whoop!

6 Months!

My baby girl is 6 months old today!  I can't believe it.  She' such a wonderful baby.  She is generally a happy baby, loves to talk, smile and laugh, she sleeps through the night and loves to give (wet) kisses!  I'm pretty much addicted to her.  I've decided to write her letters (6 months, 1 yr. and every yr after that)...I'll give them to her someday, I just haven't decided when.  Today, we started her on "real" food.  She does really well with her rice cereal...as for her fruit and veggies.... P.S. The song was El Secreto by Senor Flavio (...it was free on iTunes)

Teething?

All gums baby!

Woodland Creature

A week or so ago I opened the door to let Winston back inside only to find he was completely UNinterested. I went outside and that's when I noticed he was running frolicking more than usual. Upon further investigation I found he was chasing a bunny! Not just any bunny, the ONE thing that is better than a bunny...what is the ONE thing better than a bunny, you ask?? A BABY BUNNY! It was so tiny! Hopefully you can see the size somewhat based on the comparison to Winston (I would compare his size to my iPhone). He had no desire to hurt the little guy-he was just excited to have a new friend. Brent and I had a good time offering commentary for the interaction, but I'll spare you that conversation. You're welcome. At one point, it was cornered by the fence so I HAD to pet it. I was very tempted to pick it up, but I resisted. If I get the chance again...we may have a pet bunny. When Brynlynn gets older we may have one anyway...one that I found thanks to the pet st...

The Anti-Pasty Lotion

Ok, first of all, let me begin with-I am NOT, repeat, NOT an Avon representative (nor are they endorsing me, though I think they should...I would love for them to send me products to try). Bottom line, if you're interested don't contact me because, I can only sell you mine. :) My mom brought me this, "just to try"...and well, I LOVE IT! I have only been using it a few days and feel like I'm so tan! In reality, I'm probably still pretty white, but that's just because I was REALLY white before. Maybe this is a premature declaration of my love, I did just return from the beach. Maybe my skin has changed and now I suddenly tan quickly and easily...eh, probably not. What I love: it's clear-yes, clear! Has a nice smell, no medicine-y smell, and seems to work! It takes a little longer than regular lotion to set in my skin, (so it feels a little slimy for a while, but it's a nice glisten :) ) but nothing that's gross or uncomfortable to me; a pri...

Mini Vacation: Part Two

After the funness at the batthship and a quick ferry ride (though the ferry line was NOT so quick, but whatever, it was Brent and Seth's first ferry ride...EVER! So, it was time.) we headed to Kemah boardwalk for some fun and food. The boardwalk is SUPER cute! Reminiscent of Coney Island, NY, or at least what I imagine it would be like if I were there in the summer vs. winter. Winter, is not so much fun...cold, they close the bathrooms early (which is a BIG problem if you're Brent and have to go...it's a funny story now though), and there are crazy, homeless people yelling at...someone? something? aliens? Also, it's the LONGEST subway ride ever only to discover there is nothing there...anyways, that was way off topic. Kemah=cute: Shopping, rides, face painting, a flame thrower, food...basically everything you would expect in a carnival environment. After touring the grounds we ate at the Aquarium. The food was ok; I was satisfied. The most fun part though is, of c...

Mini Vacation: Part One...Continued

Ok, here are some more pictures from that same day. We had access to pretty much everything on the ship. Brent especially loved that you could sit at the gun stations and they actually moved when you turned the wheels!

Mini Vacation: Part One

We FINALLY went on a vacation this summer. Between Brent's crazy work schedule and the pathetic water levels at Medina Lake we have been relatively dormant this season. Very sad indeed. This past weekend we finally made it out of San Antonio (& NOT to Floresville or Lubbock!)!! We stayed in Baytown (right outside of Houston) with my little sister, her husband Seth, their two children: Sophie (a 7 month old Chihuahua/Boston Terrier mix) and Walle (a 10 week old? Chihuahua/Dachshund mix). Day One: Met up with one of my college friends, her husband and SUPER cute little boy, Grayson (he's about 11 months). Afterwards, despite Tropical Storm Don threatening to ruin our time, we went to visit the USS Texas Battleship in Houston. Of course we had to make the most of the gift shop...of course. We had a really good time. Brent seemed to really enjoy touring the ship. Let me say this, though, it is HOT and HUMID inside the ship! They had fans going (but not enough). I hone...
