They're finally here!! The Bluebonnets! We had a mini session in the bluebonnets near our house.  We fully intend to take more, in a more professional shoot, but we seized the moment and took some shots! 

It was a great day. I'm really upset with myself though about documenting the party...I had SO many ideas of things I wanted to capture and how, but didn't. Oh well, you get the idea from the pictures shown.  I didn't have a "theme" per say, it was mostly a ribbons and lace shabby chic theme.  If that's a theme.  We had LOTS of food especially desserts. Our menu was: chicken salad, pb&j (on goldfish bread), chips, veggies, rice crispies on sticks, cake pops, strawberry shortcake, cream puffs, pink chocolate covered popcorn and pretzels dipped in chocolate (thanks to my fabulous neighbor who brought some over just because). Brent was in charge of games and spent weeks planning. If you believe that, you don't know Brent very well.  Saturday morning (yes, the party was on Saturday) he bought a bouncy house, picked up the bean bag toss (we borrowed from a friend), and made a "pin the tail on the elephant" game.  We had to set everything up ...

My baby is a year old. I am the mother to a one-year old. Wow. This post took me longer than I had hoped...I had intended to post something on the actual birthday (2/15-a day she shares with her cousin, Amy, and her great-grandfather, Alvin Jung); it didn't happen- not even close...sigh.   What a crazy, life changing, wonderful year!   Looking through all the pictures and movies brought me to tears- several times.  Both happy and sad tears.  It's been so much fun, yet it's sad to see them go; to see my little baby a toddler.  Brynlynn is so much fun!  She's usually laughing (at what I don't always know). Sometimes, as she's playing, she just laughs and "talks."  I love it!  She's always been a happy baby.  I know I've said this before but, (moms/dads will understand why) she has slept through the night since about 3 months AND wakes up around 8:30 every morning (except for today, she woke up at 9). Poo Tales. It has finally happened.  I've heard countless stories from different moms and I've noticed Brynlynn's new awareness while having her diaper changed lately. While changing her diaper yesterday she reaches down, yanks it out aaaaannnnd throws it! ...after swinging it around a bit, of course.  What was I doing through all of this, you're probably thinking (keep in mind the entire process lasted about 3 seconds), I was mostly saying, "no! no! no! Brynlynn! Stop!" Fortunately, it landed "right side up" so it was an easy floor cleanup with minimal damage to her hands and the changing table. Ewww.  I realize this is only the tip of the iceberg, but it's happened.  Sigh.  I can only hope keeping her in pants will limit her ability/desire to rip her diaper off when she's alone in her crib.  I don't even want to think of the possibilities.  ...........................................................................................

Set your clocks back...rewind to a few weeks ago.  I'm behind, yes, I know.  Christmas in our house happens twice in a year.  Like most married couples know, you have to alternate the holidays (it's only fair).  This year Christmas #1 was in Floresville, and Christmas #2 was in Lubbock.  I think, however, we have stumbled on to something wonderful! We all loved having a second Christmas a little later and we got to bring in the new year together. A new tradition? Perhaps! Show us what you got! Sitting in the yard watching the guys on the roof.

Yes, the title is a bit misleading, but it does still look like Christmas around here...we haven't gotten around to taking the decorations down just yet.  In my defense, we did just get home Sunday night and it's ONLY Jan. 2 for heaven's sake!  I had a lot of ideas, plans, goals etc. for Christmas this year and most of which didn't happen.  Things were really busy and we were gone for most of December so I wasn't able to execute all of my plans.  It's ok, though, because we still had a great holiday with family...and there's always next year! Among the long list of Christmas crafts I had planned, here is the ONE that we did. Rather than buy a "Baby's 1st Christmas" I wanted to make one...easy enough, right?  Wrong. Ok, ok...yes, I know this blog is way overdue, but in my defense I've been SO busy.  My time at home, for the past month, has been only long enough to unpack, do laundry, repack and then be off again.  In fact, after two days of being home, we're leaving, again, tomorrow.  I finished the laundry tonight. We have many more blog updates in the queue; I promise I'll get to them soon.  For those of you that know us, or at least Brent, you know that New York is a part of our lives.  Brent has been making an annual trip for 5 or 6 years, it's where we got engaged and we just love it!  With the exception of last year, when I was uncomfortably pregnant and didn't want to waddle the streets, we've gone every year.  Typically, we go before Thanksgiving to start off the holiday season.  This year, we went a little later-early December.  It was a nice change; we got to see NYC all decked out for Christmas.  My mom was nice enough to accompany us o...
